Australia first competed at the Winter Paralympic Games in 1980 in Geilo, Norway, with two athletes. It wasn’t until 1992 in Albertville, France, that Australia won its first medal — a bronze by Michael Milton in alpine skiing. Milton went on to become a Paralympic legend, winning six gold, three silver and two bronze medals across four Games, and setting the foundation for Australia’s success on snow.
